And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Ge 5:3.
Imagine a mid-life crisis coming at the age of 450 years old. I can’t even imagine what that would like like! I have so many questions as to what living that long would look like. However, one day those questions will be answered.
Beginning with Adam, mankind began to decline. Sin entrenched itself in the DNA of mankind and it affected every part of us. Our nature became the nature of Adam and is no longer the nature of God. Our bodies were affected as well as our minds and souls. Without knowing of God’s holiness we would know nothing else. What we see and experience is what we know. But God’s word tells us that it was different in the beginning.
The Bible tells us that one day we will be restored to God’s original design. We will know a different existence in a glorified body. Peace with God in our bodies and our souls will be cause for celebration and worship. I am not in a hurry to depart this life but I am so looking forward to being part of God’s perfect design and more importantly standing in His presence.
