Unfailing Kindness

3 The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

The New International Version (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2011), Je 31:3.

Choose to live with contentment, confidence and courage. God has spoken and the message is clear. We must move forward despite the pain and circumstances.

When Moses came to the end of his road, he spoke to the nation of Israel. “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Dt 31:6). It had been a long journey and the people were afraid. They were used to Moses being the leader and mediator for them. When it was revealed that he would not be continuiing, I’m sure there was great emotion. However, God had another leader waiting in the wings. God is faithful and His promise to lead the people to the promised land was no exception.

This message is continued in the book of Hebrews. Verse 5 of chapter 13 says: “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”” Like Father like Son.

In the midst of difficult times is when we need to rely on God’s promises the most. It’s also during this time when it’s hardest to have faith becasue of the circumstances. Establish your relationship and develop your fellowship with Jesus when life is quiet. Therefore, when life becomes noisy you can depend on Him because it is just what you do.
